I skipped school and went home to Minnesota last week for a very close family friend’s wedding on the lake. The weather was beautiful and perfect, thereby allowing all mandatory lake activities to happen: boating, sailing, swimming, and stand up paddle-boarding.
It was my first time on the paddle-board, but like a true California girl, I was up and running/paddling from the start and I even got the dogs out on the board after my pacer lap. Maddie was a champion, moving around the board, manning the stern and the bow equally. Sebastian stayed put on the bow with a near-overboard moment but a gracious save.
Among other things that I’ve thought of asking for as a graduation gift, the stand up paddle board has joined the list. I can’t think of a better way to hang out with my pups on the lake in the summer. Especially with gas prices climbing as I noticed while I was home, it’s nice to have a fuel-free alternative to boating.
I checked out options for stand up paddle-boarding in Scotland, but let me put it this way: Brrrrrr.
Maybe the girls at Wai Nani Surf & Paddle will let me run some Pup SUP excursions when I return to Minnesota after school is finished. *wink, wink*
