Wherever you go, Learn

I’m deciding to interpret 22 as 20-something.

  1. No matter how old you are, as long as you are physically fit and in good health, and can afford it, of course, you should travel. Start small — go stateside — and then branch out to international destinations. I’m always astonished at people who have never even go beyond the boundaries of their immediate locale — and these are people who qualify for the three items above…and always seem to know a lot about nothing. Traveling gives you an opportunity to be a little fivolous, adventurous and an escape from your day-to-day life. But it also gives you an insight into a people and a culture. You eat their food. You walk their streets. You pretend to be a “local” in a small, small way if only for a few days, a week or more. I agree with Mr. Bourdain: “I urge you to travel — as far and as widely as possible.”
